The Paul Ricard Circuit in Provence, southern France holds a special place in motor sport history. Formerly the home of the French Grand Prix it’s now owned by Bernie Ecclestone and the circuit has been developed into a dedicated Formula 1 test facility that retains all that was best about the original circuit but with modern facilities and safety standards. We can now offer a full range of F1 possibilities on probably the best F1 circuit in Europe if not the world. This includes V8 and V10 Formula One cars and the actual 1993 Le Mans winning V10 engined Peugeot 905 sports car. (As with all Wildside’s F1 Courses there are no rev or speed limits and all you need is a normal driving license). A feast of motor racing excitement all served on one fantastic day.
Crucially the circuit has retained all of its original character and flow despite now being the most modern F1 facility in the world. Bar none. A fact confirmed by the current F1 drivers who have been fortunate enough to test here. The cars you will drive on this event follow in the same vein. The 185 BHP Opel-Lotus ‘Formula 3’ cars are immaculately prepared and you will have multiple sessions with individual coaching before the main event…. Formula 1!
As ever with Wildside, you can expect the very best F1s available. Depending on the course you choose; you will be driving an ex-Jean Alesi Prost AP02, an ex-Frentzen Jordan EJ111 or ex-de la Rosa V10 Arrows A20. All are in F1 race trim so that means paddle-shift semi automatic gearbox and carbon brakes. All the cars are right on the money. For the ultimate driving day you can add in laps in the 1993 (Brabham/Bouchut/Helary) Le Mans winning 905 Peugeot – the only time and place in the world that ‘Joe Public’ can get to drive an actual Le Mans winning car on a race circuit and with no rev or speed limits.
Paul Ricard is now the most expensive circuit to hire in mainland Europe ($30,000 alone and yes we have exclusive use of it). Add in the fact that you are in the hands of vastly experienced instructors, fantastically well prepared cars and a high staff to pupil ratio and this really is the world’s ultimate driving day.
