Escaping from the winter blues; Wildside is taking a group of 60 people for a weekend out to the delights of Palma on the sunny island of Majorca.  An excellent 4 star hotel with spa, buffet breakfasts, all private transfers throughout, dinner at a Michelin starred restaurant, a very special nightclub tour with VIP treatment, [...]

‘Instructors were totally Fantastic….’ That was the comment from a delighted Ian who took six colleagues out to mid Wales for a day of full on rallying. Based around classic Welsh forest rally stages and despite the cold temperatures of early February; the drivers kept warm on adrenalin with quite literally hours being spent behind [...]

Speaking about the snow in the last blog – it is what you make of it. In the states I used to go tailgate skiing. All that is a required is a 4×4 pick up truck and some rope. Tie the rope to the tailgate and hold onto the rope (you don’t even need skis [...]

It’s mid way through December and unlike last year we do not (at least in the South) seem to be in any danger of getting snow. Last year was quite unbelievable in terms of the chaos caused and the earlier predictions of this winter being the same seem to so far be wide of the [...]

I am to computer technology what I am to car mechanics. I will have a go up to a point. Anyway, this week the computer at the office decided to remove all our emails for the last 6 years. We managed to locate where they had gone or indeed where they had been stored. But [...]

Christmas is looming (or it was when this was written) and it’s the age old issue of what to buy. I can’t help you because I never know. Of course if you are stuck for an idea why not treat yourself and then hand over the bill to the wife/girlfriend/significant other. In that case might [...]

Well, my old Porsche 968 is back from Ray Northway’s and is running fab. Thanks Ray and the crew. Of course, the original plan to sell the 968 and get a 944S2 softie top has gone by the board.

I’ve always had a bit of thing for Porsches – old Porsches and particularly cheap Porsches. Over the years there has been a string of 944s (the most expensive was £4990) and I’m now on my second 968. This was acquired for the princely sum of £4990. If you take out the servicing costs (which [...]

Just started up on Facebook and although I have always opted not to become a  ‘Facebooker’ or whatever the technical term is – I have weakened. Got to admit it’s really fascinating and I am in danger of getting hooked. In the space of a couple of days I now have loads of friends (don’t [...]

When I was looking after BFGoodrich PR for the UK I managed to get a few real treats – one of which was organising a launch of BFG’s new Comp T/A tyre for Europe. This was staged at the Paul Ricard circuit (which in those days was used for F1 testing and indeed had hosted [...]

It’s now what is called the ‘silly season’ in F1. Nothing to talk about in terms of racing until the testing begins in February 2012. With column inches and internet pages to fill the rumours are already starting. Will Barrichello get a drive for next season (I hope so); who will be driving at Force [...]

I’ve just finished putting together a full day’s rally driving course in deepest Wales for a regular Wildside customer. The day will be exclusive use of the rally stages and cars.

It might be Christmas in just 5 weeks but we are already putting events in the diary for October next year – forget 2011 what happened to 2012? That’s one of the strange effects of working on events as you always seem to be living ‘in the future’.  We now have the dates for the [...]

I drive an old (that’s 20 years old) Porsche 968 – in fact this is my third after a string of 944s – and like all the others in the past;  Nothway Porsche take care of keeping the old girl on the road. I was over at Ray’s last week for the annual service and [...]

We have the new dates for our 2012 courses so just send us an email wildside@adren-a-line.com if you want to receive the list. There will be over 40 dates to choose from at various Grand Prix and testing circuits. The 2012 programme will start in March and run through to October. Perhaps  underling  the ‘new’  [...]

It’s been all go at ‘Wildside Towers’ this Summer. It seems a long time ago but back in the late Spring we took a group of 50 people from a top Danish company to Marrakech for a 4 day tour. The weather was hot and the sun was shining. From a wacky treasure hunt around the city in a fleet of horse and carriages to tackling the longest zip wire (almost a quarter of a mile) in Africa; wilderness quad biking safari to VIP night club tours – this was a trip that had just about everything. So good in fact that we are taking the same group to South Africa in the Autumn.
